Hoje vamos aprender a usar a palavra how.

1. Utilizamos a palavra how da mesma forma que a palavra como em português.

How are you? I'm good, and you? How are you doing today? I am doing fine, thanks. How about you? How will you travel to India next year? I will travel by plane. How do you feel about your job? I love it. It is very exciting.

2. Podemos, também, colocar a palavra how junto com um adjetivo, em geral, significando "quão".

How old are you? I am 24 years old. How tall are you? I am 6 feet 2. How long is the movie? It is 2 hours long. How much money do you need? I need 400 dollars. How many brothers and sisters do you have? I have one sister and two brothers.

3. Algumas expressão utilizam a palavra how.

Quando queremos pedir a opinião de alguém sobre algo que acabamos de fazer, perguntamos:

• How's that?

It's great. Good job.

De forma informal, podemos usar a seguinte expressão para perguntar por que.

• How come you will not be at the party?

I have to work tomorrow. I'm sorry.

Usamos a palavra how junto com a preposição about para fazer sugestões.

• How about going to the movies?

Sure. That's a great idea.

• How about a cup of coffee?

Yes, please. I need to wake up.
