Cars
Someone once said that in America “You are what you drive”. Cars are a very important part of American life. While to some, cars are status, to others they are a necessity. Many people spend 4 to 5 hours a day in a car. Some use this time to eat, to shave or to read the newspaper. Many Americans spend a lot of money every month on their cars. In Los Angeles, for example, where the population is approximately 8 million, there are more than 6 million cars. Statistics indicate that there are more Porsches in Los Angeles than in Germany. America today has a drive-thru at the bank, at the cleaners, for a hamburger, and to develop photos. It’s hard to imagine how Americans would live without a car.
