Grammar
Superlative Adjectives
Ex.: She is the tallest girl in her class.
Regras:
1. Normalmente adicionamos the -est.
Ex.: She is the oldest in her family.
(nice -> nicest)
Ex.: Alexandra gave me the nicest gift. -> Alexandra me deu o presente mais legal.
(big -> biggest)
Ex.: My house is the biggest on the street. -> A minha casa é a maior da rua.
4. Se o adjetivo terminar em y, tiramos o y e acrescentamos -ier. (happy -> happiest)
Ex.: Today was the happiest day of my life.
Long
Consideramos adjetivos longos:
Regras:
Para adjetivos longos temos apenas uma regra: acrescentamos the most antes do adjetivo.
Ex.: I want my website to be the most modern.
- This computer is the most expensive in the store.
good → the best |
well (healthy) → the best |
bad → worst |
far → farthest/furthest |
Ex.: This cellphone is the best there is. → Este celular é o melhor que existe.
