O curso Essencials é um curso de introdução à língua. Ele cobre conceitos básicos de gramática, pronúncia, vocabulário e desenvolve habilidades fundamentais na fala, leitura, compreensão auditiva e composição de textos. Definições simplificadas tomam o lugar de definições mais rigorosas. O objetivo principal é ser um primeiro contato em vez de um guia definitivo.
